At Deep Creek Construction School our students are trained on 10 different pieces of equipment and certified with 10 site skills. These videos are what certifies them. There is a lot more to their training than just making these videos.
A qualified and professional Excavator Operator will only operate equipment that is in good working condition. He will operate it safely and to construction standards. Construction Standards for the Excavator are: to be able to dig a two-foot-deep flat bottom trench, the full reach of the equipment, with proper placement of the spoil, and backing up in a straight line within 10 m9nutes. The training videos below will give the contractor the Proof of Competence he is looking for in his Excavator Operator. We do a video for each of our students. We train on 10 different pieces of equipment and 10 different site skills here at Deep Creek Construction School. Note: We do not train on just the “Excavator.”
The video below shows a student demonstrating the Start-Up-Procedures for the Excavator. He has already done a walk around safety inspection and control identification. He does these Start-Up-Procedures to get familiar with the controls, make sure the attachments work properly, and to cycle the hydraulic fluid through the system. There is also a short clip showing the work he did while in the class.
